Hey everybody,
Here’s another batch of actionable insights to start your week off right, so you can be more intentional with how you live, work, and create.
Let’s get started.
Insight 1: Perfectionism is the enemy of progress
What have you been wanting to create, but haven’t because you don’t feel ready?
Spoiler alert: You will never feel ready.
I’m taking Ali Abdaal’s Part-Time YouTuber Academy over the next 6 weeks, and just released my first video.
This is the worst one I will ever make.
And that’s the BEST part.
Stop waiting for perfection.
You can’t iterate until you get feedback.
And you can’t get feedback lurking in the shadows.
Here it is in all its imperfect glory, if you’re curious:
Insight 2: Time is your most valuable resource
It’s easy to think that “9-5ers” are the only ones stuck running on the hamster wheel of life. But many founders and entrepreneurs build businesses that end up being gilded hamster wheels that are even harder to escape.
Because when you chase money to the exclusion of meaning, you end up miserable.
Anthony Pompliano recently escaped his own self-made hamster wheel with a brief letter to his investors.
He said he’d be returning all outside capital at the end of the year.
Why?
Because, “Time is ultimately the only thing that matters.”
More and more people are realizing they’d rather spend their time more intentionally—learning, exploring, and being with loved ones—instead of chasing the carrot on a stick that is a few more numbers on their bank account screen.
So how’ve people responded to his decision?
“A number of people wrote me to share that they had made similar decisions over the years and it was the single greatest thing they did in hindsight.”
Here’s Pomp’s parting words to readers:
“Time is precious. Spend it wisely. Focus is a superpower. Enjoy your family. And just do the shit that makes you happy.”
